Everything you need to attract wrens to your backyard. This plain colored little bird with an effervescent voice is a voracious nester, making their twig-filled nests in old tin cans, shoes or in a wren house. Invite these zippy little birds to your back yard with supplies from Bird Feeders Etc..

Wren Feeders

The wren is primarily a bug eater and is not overly interested in common bird feeders during the summer. Wrens will visit in winter in your yard so you can provide them food in the form of suet filled with berries and fruit. You can help the wren in the summer however, by providing water. Bird baths and watering systems near your wren house ensures your wrens remain healthy and happy in your yard. View our wren supplies above for a more detailed description of what we offer.

Wren Feeding

Best wild Bird Feeders and accessories for Ruby Throated WrenWrens are happy little birds bringing a joyful rush-and-jumble song to your summer. You’ll find these nimble fliers zipping around your yard catching insects. They eat a wide variety of insects such as spiders, beetles, caterpillars, earwigs, daddy longlegs, flies, leafhoppers and springtails. Wrens also eat snail shells as a way of adding grit to their crop and will turn to berries and fruit if available.

To facilitate the insect-killing power of wrens, add water to your backyard landscape. Bird baths come in a variety of types such as a hanging globe waterers, the traditional pedestal bird bath, or ground level waterers. Don’t forget the water heater and suet feeders for winter. Shop wren seed and feed above to get started making your yard a wren haven.

Wren Housing

Wrens take their nesting very seriously. The male arrives in a nesting area in early spring and begins establishing his territory. If you observe you’ll notice this little songster will travel between approximately three perches singing from dusk till dawn. He may find as many as twelve different prospective nesting sites. When the female arrives, the male takes her to each of these prospective nesting sites.

Wrens are easily attracted to wren houses. Make sure you have them up in early spring and place them around your yard, making sure they are not in areas where the box can get too hot. Before you know it you’ll have a nearly bug-free yard due to the wren population. Bird Feeders Etc. offers a wide variety of wren houses from traditional wood to recycled plastic. No matter what style you are looking for we have a wren house to match your style.
